In 1904, Louis Cartier fulfilled the desire of Alberto Santos Dumont, a renowned Brazilian aviator, by creating a wristwatch that allowed him to keep track of time while flying. This watch became a symbol of the close friendship between the two innovators, featuring a rounded dial, smooth horns, and visible screws that would go on to inspire numerous variations.
